Travelers' Healthcare Center

The Travelers' Healthcare Center at University Hospitals of Cleveland provides comprehensive pre- and post-travel consultation, immunizations and health advice for groups and individuals traveling abroad for business or pleasure.

The Travelers' HealthCare Center offers a full range of services to safeguard your health while traveling, with programs to meet individual needs. Our physicians recommend that medical consultation and a schedule of immunizations beginning 4 to 6 weeks before departure can significantly decrease the possibility of acquiring serious diseases while traveling, particularly to developing countries.

The University Hospitals Travelers' HealthCare Center is part of the hospital's Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine, and is one of the first centers in the country established exclusively for the study and treatment of international health problems. All physicians are trained in Internal Medicine and are specialists in infectious diseases and the prevention, identification and treatment of international health problems.

Services include:

· Pre-travel and health care planning for individuals and groups.

· A complete vaccination program for your destination, accompanied by an International Certificate of Vaccination.

· Advice and counseling on preventive measures that will best maintain your personal health abroad, such as guidelines for food and water consumption.

· Complete and up-to-date information on health hazards and epidemics in specific countries.

· Advice regarding the best ways for you to obtain medical assistance while traveling abroad.

· Post-travel diagnosis and treatment of illnesses acquired while traveling abroad.

· Travelers' HealthCare Center physicians are available to present on-site, pre-travel seminars for groups of ten or more business or private travelers.
